Stuff+ uses machine learning to grade raw pitch quality — velocity, spin, movement, release — on a 100-centered scale. FanGraphs publishes the most-cited version.

Location+ scores command on the same scale: even with identical Stuff+, can the pitcher hit the spots that hurt batters most?

Pitching+ combines both. A pitcher with Stuff+ 130 and Location+ 90 lands as a middling Pitching+; the inverse (100 / 120) plays up to Pitching+ 110 — playable.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto rates highly on both. Shota Imanaga makes up for modest velocity with elite Location+. Roki Sasaki posts otherworldly Stuff+ with Location+ that swings through the season.
